So, What's my Mark???
At various points throughout the school year, your child will be bringing home different pieces of work. This work will include specific and constructive feedback, but will not include a grade/mark. The work may identify specific learning goals and an achievement level: mastered (level 4), got it (level 3), getting there (Level 2), and not yet (Level 1). No grades will be because grades given on report cards are based on a variety of sources of evidence from observations, conversations, and products. The products that come home are only one source of evidence.
You can still monitor your child’s learning by looking at their completed tasks and reading the teacher feedback, especially how your child can “bump up” his/her work.
There are two Provincial Report Cards sent home in February and June, with letter grades that reflect levels of achievement of the various curriculum expectations (A,B,C,D).
